The Village of North Randall, Ohio, Maintains Business-Friendly Focus with Cloudpermit Partnership
Village of North Randall, Ohio
July 29, 2021The Village of North Randall, Ohio, recently signed a partnership with Cloudpermit, cloud-based software for simple and online permitting processes, to maintain its focus on being a business-friendly place to build.
This partnership will enable our Building Department to review, process, and issue permits faster as we experience high permit demand, and as a result, businesses will be able to build faster,” shared North Randall’s Mayor, David Smith. “We’re in the business of doing business and Cloudpermit will empower us to enhance our process of doing business.”
The small village at less than one square mile with 1,100 residents boasts a haven for business development with an Amazon Fulfillment Center, the Jack Thistledown Racino with horse racing and a casino, 142 single-family homes, two apartment complexes, and multiple other retail locations.
Cloudpermit will help us maintain and excel at being business-friendly,” explained Charles Horvath, Chief Building Official for North Randall. “We view development as a three-way partnership between the developer, contractor, and our village’s Building Department, so by making the playing field easier for all three of us with Cloudpermit, we all benefit.”
Cloudpermit brings all permitting processes online so developers, contractors, government staff, and all other involved parties can easily access information, complete tasks, and collaborate online from any mobile device.
“We’re delighted about this partnership and expect other governments across Ohio to be inspired by North Randall’s digital leadership,” remarked Jarkko Turtiainen, Cloudpermit’s Senior Vice President, North America. “North Randall is a mighty village, and we look forward to helping this community adopt even more business-friendly practices with online ways of working.”
North Randall receives more business than residential permits, and a high number at that, with no sign of slowing down with Cloudpermit’s upcoming launch later this year.
Cloudpermit’s efficiency opens up a wealth of opportunity for us going forward,” Mayor David Smith said. “If a business wants to expand, like Amazon, it’s a simple turnkey operation. I’d advocate for any small village like ours that does not have the resources that big cities do to consider Cloudpermit because you can immediately use the software and quickly see the benefits of it.”

About the Village of North Randall, Ohio
The Village of North Randall, Ohio, was home to the largest mall of its kind from 1974 until the early 2000s and the village’s location is still the key in its latest transformation from retail to industry and entertainment. The success of the newly renovated Thistledown Racino stands as testimony to our metamorphosis, with its addition of gaming options, fine restaurants and other new development to come. With Amazon as the anchor light industry facility in the former mall space, we now look to adding retail and entertainment to complete our vision of a thriving and sustainable live, work and play environment.
