Cloudpermit is seeking an experienced and driven Product Manager to lead the development and delivery of Cloudpermit software solutions designed for government agencies. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in product management with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by government agencies. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in public works operations, including asset and work order management.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, professional services and customer success, to create products that address critical pain points and deliver measurable value. The Product Manager is responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch, and beyond. Responsibilities and Duties

Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Develop and own the product vision and strategy for government software solutions. Experience in public works and asset management is a plus.
  • Develop feature specifications and communicate requirements to the development team.
  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap in alignment with business objectives and market needs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and understand user needs.
  • Conduct discovery and analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure product alignment.
  • Translate customer feedback and market insights into actionable product improvements and features.
Product Development
  • Translate customer needs and business goals into detailed product requirements and user stories.
  • Lead the development and execution of the product roadmap in alignment with Cloudpermit’s strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality software on time and within scope.
Customer-Centric Design
  • Advocate for user-centric design principles to ensure products are intuitive, accessible, and impactful.
  • Partner with UX/UI teams to develop optimal customer experience.
Performance Tracking & Optimization
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success.
  • Analyze user feedback, usage data, and market conditions to continuously improve the product.
Product Management
  • Create and manage all product-related documentation including product data, process descriptions, and support articles.
  • Management of new product development and go-to-market process.
  • Cross-functional knowledge liaison of product to support Cloudpermit internal teams and external clients.
  • Active participation in the product management team actions and events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience in public works and asset management a plus.
  • 3+ years of product management experience in a SaaS environment, preferably with government software.
  • Strong understanding of government processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Public Works experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with technologies and trends in GIS, public works asset management, and citizen engagement experience is a plus.
