US COVID-19 Federal Relief Funding That Supports E-Permitting is Extended Until End of 2021

February 15, 2021

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, with the Coronavirus Relief Fund, has been extended until the end of 2021. The Act supports governments at the state, local, and tribal levels during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This funding helps building and zoning departments go digital.

In the building industry, the outbreak’s impacts on government departments and services are undeniable.

Non-digital processes are slow and create less-than-ideal conditions for governments and its communities.

Departments using paper or on-premises systems continue to take a hit by being forced to rely on email, phone calls, or physical drop boxes for building processes.

The US Federal Government is offering support to governments who want to switch to e-permitting to adopt safer and more efficient ways of working during the ongoing pandemic.

“The extension of federal funding to help counties manage during COVID-19 is a game-changer for many communities,” shared Nathaniel Kurash, Vice President of Sales, USA. “With this funding extended, I’m excited that Zoning and Building Departments that have been struggling can adopt e-permitting for safer building permit processes.”

E-permitting creates safer conditions for all involved parties with remote, digital, and paperless processes with no person-to-person contact during COVID-19.
