Pocono Township, Pennsylvania, signed a partnership with Cloudpermit, leading e-permitting software that empowers local governments with simple and online permitting processes, earlier this month.

“We are a government that works for the people and this partnership reflects that,” shared Taylor Muñoz, Pocono Township Manager. “Cloudpermit will help us better serve our residents with improved communication and accountability.”

Pennsylvania has found a digital leader in Pocono Township as the cloud-based software will allow its 11,000 citizens to apply for zoning, building, and sewage permits online, as well as track permit and inspection status from their mobile devices.

“By extending the support we give residents to include the ability to self-serve and do all permit processes from home, we are prioritizing our community’s time and convenience,” explained Muñoz. “It will also give our Zoning and Code Enforcement Department better insight into upcoming, ongoing, and issued permits since we have access to all information in an automatic, digital archive.”

Cloudpermit users communicate with time-stamped direct and public messages within the software for better collaboration, transparency, and accountability among all involved parties.

“We’re thrilled about our partnership with Pocono Township that will surely motivate other local governments across the state focused on customer service to adopt digital practices too,” commented Nate Kurash, Cloudpermit's Vice President of Sales, Northern USA. “We look forward to helping Pocono Township provide better service to its citizens with online, easy-to-follow communication.”

The northeastern township plans to launch the software later this summer and looks forward to the added benefit of time saved as a government.

“We evaluated a number of different e-permitting platforms that tried to do too many things and did none of them well – Cloudpermit does permits well,” Muñoz said. “We are pleased to be among the early adopters of Cloudpermit in Pennsylvania and look forward to serving as a model for other municipalities to follow in providing convenient, electronic permitting options for our residents.”
